Responsibilities
- Undergo intensive training in software testing methodologies, programming, and Cognizant’s delivery frameworks during the initial probation period.
- Execute manual and automated test cases for web and enterprise applications based on functional and technical specifications.
- Document and report defects with clear reproducible steps, expected versus actual results, and severity classification.
- Participate in daily Agile stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings as part of a collaborative delivery team.
- Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing to validate application quality after code changes.
- Support senior QA engineers in building and maintaining test automation scripts using Selenium or equivalent frameworks.
- Assist in UAT coordination, test data preparation, and stakeholder communication throughout the delivery cycle.
- Continuously upskill through Cognizant’s learning portal and internal certification programmes.
Required Skills & Technical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts: test cases, test scenarios, defect life cycle, and STLC.
- Fundamental programming knowledge in Java, Python, or C for writing automation scripts.
- Knowledge of SQL for database querying and data validation.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and the role of QA within a scrum team.
- Good problem-solving ability and aptitude to quickly learn new tools and frameworks during training.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and documentation.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.E. / B.Tech (CS/IT/ECE), BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT/Math/Stats/Electronics) from a recognised university.
- 2024 or 2025 graduating batch freshers are eligible to apply.
- Minimum 60% aggregate in UG for BCA/B.Sc CS/IT, or minimum 50% for other degree streams.
- No standing arrears or active backlogs at the time of application.
- Must clear the Cognizant GenC online assessment and interview rounds.
