Responsibilities

• Learn and apply software testing methodologies under the guidance of senior QA engineers during the initial training programme.
• Create, review, and execute detailed test cases and test scripts based on functional requirements and technical specifications.
• Execute manual and automated regression test suites and report results to the testing lead on a daily basis.
• Identify, log, and track software defects in designated defect tracking systems, ensuring all bugs are clearly documented.
• Support automation efforts by assisting in writing Python-based automated test scripts and integrating them with CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies including stand-ups, planning, and review sessions.
• Validate API responses using Postman and ensure integration points between services meet quality standards.
• Prepare test summary reports for release managers outlining scope, results, and any outstanding quality risks.

Required Skills & Technical Knowledge

• Basic understanding of networking principles, protocols, and software testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with Python programming for automation testing; prior academic project experience preferred.
• Knowledge of fundamental software testing types: functional, regression, integration, UAT, and performance.
• Understanding of SDLC and STLC, including the role of QA at each phase.
• Basic SQL knowledge for validating data in relational databases.
• Good communication skills in English — both written and verbal — for client-facing documentation.

Eligibility Criteria

• B.E. / B.Tech in CS, IT, ECE, or allied engineering disciplines from a recognised institution.
• 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduating batch freshers are eligible to apply.
• Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th, 12th, and graduation (or 6.0 CGPA).
• No active backlogs at the time of application.
• Willingness to be posted at any HCLTech delivery centre across India.
