What will your day look like?

This role is responsible for the design, implementation and quality of cloud-based solutions. As a Cloud Test Lead, you will be responsible for helping application teams consume our new cloud native application platform, build out infrastructure as code, building CI/CD pipelines and support production releases. You’ll be using automation to deliver infrastructure, applications and fully automate our security and governance controls.

As a Test Lead, you will ANZ Careers:

Collaborating with the Lead Data Engineer and/or Data Architect to understand the demands on the data platform
Work with domain and data platform teams to understand data sets and designs
Analyse the format of raw data from domains that has been further combined and aggregated from various internal and external sources
Building testing models to test the transformation of data
Collaborating with data and cloud engineers to understand the key design artefacts
Building relationships with key business and technology stakeholders, providing technical input and support in their quest to contribute towards an Institutional and enterprise data mesh
Supporting the evaluation of new technologies to support capability gaps and performance improvements.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Good understanding and experience working with big data and associated concerns (data governance, scalability, security, observability, reliability, etc).
Knowledge of data warehousing technologies (AWS Redshift) and data storage formats (Parquet, Avro, JSON) and table formats (governed tables, Iceberg).
Understanding and experience of ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading) Testing.
Experience with data transformation and testing tools and frameworks (dbt, Great Expectations, Soda)
5+ years of industry experience in data and/or software engineering, data science, business intelligence, or related fields.
Good proficiency in scripting (Python, Rust, GoLang or Java, with strong SQL knowledge).
Relevant AWS Cloud Certifications desirable
Preferable – Data modelling experience to support business requirements for data usage.
Knowledge of CI/CD and tools (Terraform, Codefresh)
Knowledge of tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or similar.
Proven skill in communicating and collaborating with analysts and engineers within the team.
