Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a key role in the software development lifecycle by participating in release planning, performing comprehensive testing, identifying requirements gaps, and contributing to continuous improvements in our data products.
You will work closely with developers to understand requirements, design effective test strategies, develop automated tests, diagnose bugs, and ensure end-to-end system quality prior to release.

Role Expectations

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with developers to understand requirements and design comprehensive test strategies.
• Actively participate in release cycle planning, daily standups, and review of business requirements.
• Identify and communicate requirements gaps to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain automated test cases, execute test suites, and diagnose reported bugs.
• Ensure overall system quality and readiness before release.
• Evaluate functional design documents and SRS to ensure alignment with technical and business requirements.
• Test complex API, web, and enterprise applications interacting with multiple backend databases.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Software Developer, SDET, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
• Solid understanding of full-scale enterprise SDLC processes.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience writing clear and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Strong SQL and scripting skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying/managing Databricks workspaces and clusters using Terraform.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with performance and/or security testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar.
