General Description: 

Datavail is looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and ambitious QA Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a consistent record of engagement, leadership, and execution in the Microsoft Domain space. They will bring their extensive experience to Quality, delivery, and support for our large array of enterprise clients.

Key Accountabilities and Priorities: 

• Good understanding of SDLC, test process in particular
• Good understanding of Project Life Cycle and Test Life Cycle.
• Experience in Testing Data warehousing / Business Intelligence solutions, minimum 1 years of experience in Testing BI & Analytics applications.
• Experience in testing cloud-based data solutions on AWS/Azure
• Strong understanding in areas like ETL processing, Data warehouse, dashboards and analytics.
• Experience with automation testing using tools like Selenium
• Experience/exposure to Test Automation and scripting experience in perl & shell
• Working experience with python data processing is desirable.
• Extensive Testing experience in more than one of these areas- Data Quality, ETL, OLAP, Reports
• Proficiency with SQL scripting.
• Knowledge of Data Transformation Projects, database design concepts, black-box & white-box testing are desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and interacting effectively with multifunctional teams and other strategic partners
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business priorities
• Experience with performance testing & Security testing
• Experience in DEVOPS
• Experience with Test Management and Defect Management tools
• Participate in Defect Triaging and track the defects for resolution/conclusion
• Demonstrate the ability to collect, analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and information to develop a thorough understanding of stakeholder motivations, preferences and opinions
• Contribute to thought leadership and practice development effort to help evolve and mature practice service areas.

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

Planning & Design

• Plan and coordinate testing activities strategically, including effort estimation & resource allocation
• Scheduling, and consistent progress reporting to stakeholders.
• Clarify and document project requirements, ensuring alignment with objectives and user needs.
• Create and maintain detailed test cases, suites, and QA documentation to support thorough testing processes.
• Creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on feature requirements and specifications.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of quality assurance strategies, methodologies, and standards.
• Identifying areas for process improvement, suggesting and implementing best practices.
• Analyzing test results and providing feedback to the development team for bug fixes and improvements.

Execution

• Work on enhancing test coverage and efficiency by identifying gaps, and refining testing processes.
• Take full ownership of quality control, ensuring the highest standards are maintained across all aspects.
• Contribute to developing a CI/CD pipeline for testing deployment.
• Conducting regular regression tests to ensure new development or changes do not break existing functionality.
• Conducting tests, identifying defects, and documenting them in a defect tracking system.
• Testing the performance and scalability of applications to ensure they can handle expected loads.
• Creating and maintaining test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.

Collaboration

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project owners.
• Collaborate with Team manager on review Test plan, test cases & Effort estimation
• Collaborate closely with the QA Team Manager and cross-functional teams

Nice to have skills:

• Understanding of a CI/CD.
• Any knowledge or experience in Automation QA or willingness to get some.
