How would you like to impact millions of customers around the world using Amazon Search? This is a rare opportunity to build a core part of Search Relevance Customer Operations team undergoing rapid investment and growth.

This team measures the spectrum of Search experiences on Amazon and helps root cause and deep dive escalations from customers and leadership point of view. From highlighting pain points to surfacing abuse across 21 locales, root causing problems in the complex Search stack layers and protecting the customer from compromised experience. We seek to improve customer perception of Search and trust through improved customer comprehension of our search results.

We are looking for a passionate QA Engineer to help us enhance the customer journey by performing SearchTroubleshooting whenever an escalation is flighted either by leadership or by customers. Key job responsibilities

Our QA Engineers test code at both the service and user level, using a variety of black box, gray box, and white box testing techniques. As a QA Engineer, you will innovate our test strategy across multiple dependencies, locales and device types and implement highly scalable automation to enable Search stack testing across 21 locales.

You will work to be able to understand software internals, debug complex problems including performance bottlenecks in Search stack, Troubleshoot Search escalations and regression and write automated tests in and/or using existing automated tools.

QA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers and Business Owners to understand business drivers and technical implementation of features.
QA Engineers also work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests.

You must have experience in diagnosing project release problems and taking corrective action, such as escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve results. Our QA Engineers are also responsible for driving our software development process toward quality-centric methodologies and for reporting on test progress, metrics, and issues.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 2+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
– Experience in automation testing
– Experience in manual testing
– Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI)
– Experience as QA on medium to large sized projects
– Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
– Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
– Experience with Lucene or Solr and Learning to Rank having worked with Ecommerce Search before

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience in API & Mobile testing
– Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control
