Job Summary:
QA Engineer will become a member of a key project in Teradata’s Unity / Business Continuity Manager offering. This organization is responsible for working with the Teradata Dual Active leadership in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining database virtualization products for the Teradata Unity/BCM program. The successful candidate will work as a contributing member of the Teradata’s Unity /BCM team. The QA engineer role includes Requirement analysis, design, develop and test and maintenance of new and existing features and all related technologies and required environments to ensure a successful product development lifecycle and delivery.
This candidate, as time permits and as appropriate may also assist with product support. The engineer must be well versed in working in and contributing to a fully agile automated development and testing process. This is an individual contributor position reporting to an Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science with 2 to 5 years of working knowledge as Automation test engineer/ QA Engineer
- Knowledge on at least one cloud platform – Azure / Google Cloud / AWS
- Knowledge on UNIX/Linux and at least one programming/scripting knowledge is MUST
- Teradata Database and Client Utilities experience is a plus
- Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and to leverage that knowledge for results analysis and problem solving
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with members of Test Engineering and Development groups
- Strong grasp of testing processes where one is results oriented working within a collaborative team
Required Skills:
- Develop fully automated tests to validate Unity/BCM product related components/functions
- Develop tests to reproduce and verify customer reported issues and fixes
- Perform customer-centric validation of TD database under stress, load and with focus on system level integration
- Analyse & report the defects/issues encountered during testing
- Strong Java programming skills.
- Aptitude for understanding complex software from the functional and technical perspective.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong debugging skills.
- Good Knowledge of testing process.
- Working Knowledge on SQL and database.
- Exposure to scripting skills.
- Open to learn and experiment new automation frameworks.
- Good knowledge on Linux platforms.
