Role Overview
Reporting to the Team Leader, the QA Engineer I is responsible for both Manual and Automation Testing. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Python and Java, with strong knowledge of desktop automation using Squish (Python), UI automation using Selenium or related new technologies, and API testing using Rest Assured.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Design, develop, and execute test cases for manual and automated testing efforts
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Squish (Python) for desktop applications
- Create and execute Selenium (or similar tools) test scripts using Java for web-based UI testing
- Create and execute RESTful APIs using Rest-Assured (Java) for API automation
- Identify, report, and track bugs through to resolution
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure high-quality deliverables
Essential Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience in QA, with strong exposure to both Manual and Automation Testing
- Proficiency in Python and Java programming languages
- Hands-on experience in Squish for desktop automation (preferably using Python)
- Strong knowledge of Selenium WebDriver for web UI automation (using Java)
- Strong knowledge of API Testing using Rest-Assured (Java)
- Familiarity with test frameworks and tools such as TestNG, JUnit, or PyTest
- Experience in writing and maintaining clear, concise, and comprehensive test documentation
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle
- Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
- Knowledge of version control tools like Git
- Domain knowledge in the Printing and Packaging domain
