The project is seeking a Test Automation Engineer with specialized expertise in Karate for automated testing. While Automated Testing has been selected as the nearest category in the RRD creation, this role will specifically focus on Karate testing. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, construction, and execution of test scripts using the Karate framework.

You will leverage business and functional knowledge and adhere to testing standards, guidelines, and methodologies to ensure that the team’s testing objectives are met. Your primary responsibility is to ensure high-quality test automation, covering both API and web UI tests, and ensuring that all testing results are easily accessible, understandable, and trackable. Additionally, you will manage defect tracking through to closure and maintain an up-to-date defect repository.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using the Karate framework for API testing and UI automation.
Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to understand requirements and design test strategies.
Conduct end-to-end API testing, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
Write and maintain Gherkin-based feature files for behavior-driven development (BDD) testing.
Validate and assert JSON/XML responses, response times, and API contract.
Integrate Karate tests into the CI/CD pipeline for automated test execution.
Troubleshoot and debug test failures, identify root causes, and work with the development team for resolution. Document test results, log defects, and track issues until resolution.
Support UI automation (if required) using Karate for web-based application testing.
Participate in test planning, test design, and test case reviews.

Must To Have Skills:

Proficiency in Automated Testing with Karate Familiarity with Java for scripting (Karate is based on Java). Experience with other test automation tools like Selenium, Rest-Assured, or Cucumber.
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and API testing in such environments. Understanding of mock services and stubs for testing APIs in isolation

Additional Information: – The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Automated Testing using Karate. – This position is based at our Bangalore office. – A 15 years full-time education is required.
